What I think is really special about Rockhurst University is the value of a liberal arts education. It's not just preparing them for today's job, it's preparing them for the next 10 jobs that we don't even know what it is yet.

Helzberg School of Management had one of the initial MBA's in the region. And we've grown over the years to impact regional organizations and thousands and thousands of students. Our foundation is based on quality and relevance.

We keep our pulse on the emerging needs of organizations. And a couple of things that we see with this generation of students, they don't just want to serve, they want to change the world. And do that, we're developing new degree programs in public policy, analytics, and the use of technology. And we've made tremendous strides in revitalizing all of our great programs throughout the curriculum so that students are graduating well positioned to help organizations do that.

Looking forward 15 to 20 years, the jobs that are out there, they require critical thinking. They require inquiry. They require the ability to think on your feet. The way that we approach higher education, in the Jesuit world, is to experience, to reflect, and then to act. So we need to put students in real situations, reflect on their experiences, and then empower them to go out and change the world.
